Plugged waste pipes can be flushed away

What are some easy home remedies for eliminating choked drains pipes in your bathroom? The quickest and simplest thing to use to undertake the problem is your normal plunger. The process is pretty straightforward to apply. What you don’t want to do however is to vigorously pump up and down like a jack hammer. To ensure that the plunger works effectively, wholly cover the drainpipe with its bell-shaped head, and gently push it down once, and immediately come up, so that suction is created. The suction created when the plunger is pulled up will hopefully dislodge the material clogging the toilet, tub or sink in your bathroom. overspill outlets are present in few sinks and tubs, so the outlets should be covered with a wet towel or sponger before using the plunger otherwise air can enter and reduce the impact of your actions.

Chemical unblocking agents can also be used to dislodge or dissolve choked matter. This is usually done after you attempt to unplug your drain using your plunger. You should allow the chemicals time to take effect and then, once the material that is clogging the drainpipe has been disintegrated you can flush it out with hot water. During the cleaning process, chemicals and dirt may spill over your clothes, therefore as a precaution wear old clothes. If you plan to use the plunger after the application of chemical to remove the remaining debris, then eye protection is essential because the chemical laden water may back-splash on you and burn. Just be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid any unnecessary issues.

If the plunger still doesn’t make any difference after the chemical treatment you could use pliers or a pipe wrench to loosen the P-trap nuts. Now this is going to get messy so be prepared with a towel and bucket to clean up the mess. If you don’t want to damage the chrome finish of your pipes and also to get a better grip on the pipe, you can wrap the jaws of your wrench with electrical tape. Once the P-trap is removed, check the trap for any solid materials obstructing the pipe opening. If you don’t see anything, the problem might unfortunately go far deeper and may be located between the trap and the waste pipes soil stack.

A toilet auger can be used for unclogging the toilet. With a bathtub or sink, however a drainpipe snake should be used. The flexible snake wire can be inserted deep into pipework of smaller diameter. With the help of the adjustable handle, you can literally drill into the blockage and pull out the clog from the drainage. After you have successfully removed the the blockage you should put the P-trap back into place and check if water can flow through freely. Ensure that all the joints and the P-trap are firmly sealed and that there is no leakage anywhere.

You need to take professional drains clearance help in case you are unable to unclog the drain pipe by any of these methods. There are some incidents that cannot be resolved by the common householder such as clogs in the soil stack or the sewer service near tree roots or even a broken pipe caused by age or pipe corrosion brought upon by nature or some “mysterious reason”, at these times contact a good waste pipes engineer.
